CAD-to-Polygonal 3D · Retopology · Look Development · Product Visualization · Blender Pipeline Development
Product visualization created for TERRA by Battat, featuring the Yellow Zebra variant of the R/C Rolling Pill Bug. I handled the CAD-to-polygonal conversion and render-ready asset preparation, including retopology, geometry optimization, material and shader development, and decal implementation.
Using the product’s technical artwork and graphic production sheets, I created custom decal assets for the 3D model, cleaning and adapting the original graphics and reproducing their specified placement on the virtual product to accurately represent the final manufactured toy.
This project also marked the first complete product scene developed for a new Blender-based rendering pipeline. I built the scene from the ground up, establishing the materials, lighting, camera system, product POVs, and rendering setup that would provide a reusable foundation for subsequent product imagery.
The final look was developed to achieve a photographic product quality, with particular attention to material response, subtle surface variation, glossy and translucent components, internal mechanical details, and controlled studio lighting.
