B. Toys - Balance Hop Stones

For this project, I received the STL files and began by carefully cleaning the geometry, refining the topology and preparing each piece for rendering. Once the technical foundation was solid, the real exploration began: how to translate the playful nature of these toys into images that feel just as engaging on screen as they do in hand.

Rather than relying solely on strict orthographic catalog views, I experimented with slightly more dynamic focal lengths and camera angles to give the products more presence and character, while still maintaining the clarity required for e-commerce. The lighting was designed to enhance volume, softness and color, making the materials feel tactile and inviting.

I always enjoy finding that balance between precision and emotion — creating visuals that are clean and informative, yet lively enough to catch the eye. In digital spaces especially, a product that stands out visually is simply easier to notice… and much easier to sell.

For the more traditional catalog views, I maintained a cleaner and more neutral perspective to ensure clarity, accuracy, and a straightforward presentation of the product.

I intentionally used a slightly shorter focal length to create a more pronounced and subtly distorted perspective, giving the product greater depth, presence, and a more dynamic, eye-catching feel.

I also created a close-up shot to highlight the tactile surface details and textures — a perspective I particularly love for how it celebrates the product’s materiality and design nuances.
